Deal: $7 for $15 worth of food from Owen’s Bagel and Deli
Grade: A
If I could eat bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel every morning, I would. This past year, I became addicted to getting this breakfast on the weekend from a small hole-in-the-wall bagel shop in DC called Bagels, Etc. This might be one of the things I miss most about DC, however, I’m was so excited today to discover the delicious bagels at Owen’s Bagel and Deli in Charlotte.
I ordered Mandy’s Mayhem (Turkey, Swiss, Avocado, & Sprouts on Everything) without the sprouts and Ted ordered the Piedmont (Roast Beef, Smoked Cheddar, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato on Onion). We ended up splitting both and they were delicious (although I think mine was better). They were served hot so that all the cheese was melted and the bagels were very doughy. Yum!
I loved the atmosphere at Owen’s too. While the restaurant was very kid friendly, it also felt like a college town sandwich shop where people in their early 20s might gather.
I give Owen’s an A — great atmosphere, delicious bagel, and somewhere I will definitely go back. So far my Charlotte Groupons have been 2-for-2…great experiences and I plan on returning to both! Keep up the good work Groupon Charlotte!

LINDSEY!! I cannot believe you called Bagels, Ect. a “hole-in-the-wall.” To be fair, I have found a bagel replacement too. Bodos. I was worried about you and Teddy without a go-to bagel spot. Whew.

This looks awesome. Haven’t been to Owen’s yet. For some reason I stick with bruegger’s. When is your next post?

There is simply not a better bagel sandwich in Charlotte. The steaming, the real NYC bagels, fresh ingredients, handmade cream cheese. I could go on and on. This place blows any franchise out of the water and I used to swear by Einstein’s. Forget about Bruegger’s, Owen’s is no comparison.
